Unified TruePlanning/PES Installation AvailableThe release of PRICE TruePlanning® 2006 SR1 and PRICE Estimating Suite (PES) 2006 SR1 on a single CD with a single installer marks a major breakthrough for PRICE product development and user support. PRICE users now have the option to work with cost models from either suite using a single licensing program. PES users, especially, will want to try the newer TruePlanning cost models to experience a unified framework for software and IT projects. The integrated framework will also simplify our support infrastructure within PRICE, ensuring responsive consulting and applications support services for all users as our global customer base expands. The unified installation is available now. At True Program Success '06 in San Diego this month, they focused on new developments in project control for better Program Affordability Management using PRICE cost models and methodologies. PRICE Systems' Bill Mathis Among Educators at May 9-10 EVM Workshop Training EventWhile the GAO has embraced the concept of Earned Value Management (EVM) to improve planning and control of major IT projects, many government agencies remain far behind in comprehending and using EVM as a project management tool. To help bring agencies up to speed, the Digital Government Institute (DGI), in conjunction with George Washington University, is hosting an educational program on "Practical EVM: Objectives and Applications" on May 9-10, 2006 in Washington, DC. Bill Mathis, Senior Director of the Government Solutions Division at PRICE Systems, will join other EVM experts from NAVAIR and GAO in conducting an EVM training workshop. Completing this two-day program earns 1 CEU from George Washington University and 10 PDUs for PMPs. PRICE Launches On-Demand Educational WebcastsPRICE Systems is pleased to introduce on-demand Webcasts, which will allow online access to expert insights and instruction on cost management techniques anytime from anywhere. The first installment to an eventual library of educational Webcasts is "TrueConcepts" for establishing validated historical project data, identifying cost drivers, regressing meaningful Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs) for conceptual early designs, and implementing a high-level cost model using PRICE TruePlanning®. The techniques used in this forum will be transferable for organizations wishing to develop their own cost models or implement existing models. Viewers will learn how to establish high-level summary costs, make predictions at the concept phase, and utilize platform-specific performance parameters relevant to their system type and project.
