Learning Curve 101 will discuss the basics of learning curve—also known as "cost improvement curve"— theory and effects on "theoretical first unit" (T-1) cost calculation and hardware production cost estimation. PRICE consultants will compare and contrast unit and cumulative-average learning curve theory, and how to adjust assumptions based on technology and industry. Discussion will not be specific to a particular software tool and is highly recommended for everyone on your project cost team. "Lunch and Learn" educational Webinars address Program Affordability Management topics that customers feel are most important. PRICE customers worldwide are invited to participate. Register Online PRICE Survey Confirms Cost Estimation to be an Important Design Optimization ParameterPRICE Systems conducted an informal survey of professionals engaged in Design Process Integration and Optimization while attending the Engineous Software 2007 International Symposium held on March 12-14. On the subject of integrating cost estimation with design, 95% of participants said that they currently include cost as a design parameter. 92% said that they currently have requirements for interoperability between design engineering tools and cost models. On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 least important and 10 most important), participants' average rating on the importance of including cost as part of design evaluations was a robust 8.9.
