PRICE Survey Confirms Cost Estimation to be an Important Design Optimization Parameter

PRICE Systems conducted an informal survey of professionals engaged in Design Process Integration and Optimization while attending the Engineous Software 2007 International Symposium held on March 12-14. On the subject of integrating cost estimation with design, 95% of participants said that they currently include cost as a design parameter. 92% said that they currently have requirements for interoperability between design engineering tools and cost models. On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 least important and 10 most important), participants' average rating on the importance of including cost as part of design evaluations was a robust 8.9.
