Software Tip: Using the Analogy Method for Software Estimation

Analogy is a quick and easy method for creating a software estimate when little project information is available. This method allows an analyst to use reasoning that compares one project to previously completed projects. Measures of analogy can include software lines of code (SLOC), code complexity, cost or schedule.
