Book Release: Systems Cost Engineering, Program Affordability Management and Cost Control
by Dale Shermon
PRICE Systems' Senior Executive Consultant, Dale Shermon, will be displaying advanced copies of his book, Systems Cost Engineering at the upcoming ISPA SCEA Conference in St. Louis on June 2, 2009.
The book is a collaboration of knowledge detailing the benefits of parametric estimating. The chapters and ensuing examples provide a compelling case to any senior executive whose organization currently does not employ a parametric approach. The book is also an excellent resource for PRICE users with many tips on how to apply PRICE solutions to other estimating intensive business processes.
Make sure to stop by the PRICE Systems booth (#6/#7) to enter to win a free copy before they are available in July!
ISPA SCEA 2009 Presentation Preview
PRICE Systems expertise will be on display at this year's ISPA SCEA conference with several speakers presenting on a total of 8 different topics. Here's a preview of some of the presentations attendees can expect to see:
"Through-Life Estimating", Arlene Minkiewicz & Dale Shermon - This presentation introduces the concept of using a single estimating tool to estimate hardware, software, and IT programs consistently from cradle to grave. It describes the challenges of estimating Aerospace & Defense programs over a 20 or 30 year period.
"Integrating Homegrown CERs in a Single Commercial Estimating Toolset", Anthony DeMarco - This paper uses real life examples to demonstrate how homegrown CERs (Cost Estimating Relationships) can be quickly modeled in a standard framework and how a measureable ROI can be achieved with such an approach.
"True Cost/Benefit Analysis Framework" Pete Pizzutillo - This presentation introduces the latest innovations of TruePlanning by PRICE Systems. In addition to being the industry's first true System of Systems estimating framework, TruePlanning now becomes the first tool to also incorporate cost/benefit analysis. Examples show how diverse systems can be integrated to estimate costs, while also calculating benefits, payback, and value.
