Webinar: GAO Cost Assessment Guide; Best Practices for Estimating, Managing Program Costs, October 24FREE 60-minute Webinar
This Webinar will address the Cost Assessment Guide recently released by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the impact on Government and Industry. Four fundamental themes will be discussed: the 12-step Cost Estimating Process and why it represents best practices; Requirements and Technical Baseline Documents—defining what Program Offices want, and why they want it; Program Risk and Uncertainty—dealing with uncertainty, budgeting and scheduling for success; and Linking Estimating with EVM and Risk Management—end-to-end cost management, early warnings, and knowledge growth. In addition, practical implications of Managers in Government and Industry will also be addressed, along with available training, certifications, tools, etc. Software Calibration, Sensitivity Analysis, and Industry Benchmarks "Lunch and Learn" Webinar November 8FREE 45-minute Webinar
This webinar will discuss how to calibrate TruePlanning® to a software integrator, development organization, or agency’s actual environment to increase the accuracy of IT cost estimation. We will also discuss methods of performing and implementing sensitivity analysis to compare modifications to key model parameters, and review their effect on the cost and schedule of an estimate. Additionally, industry benchmarks, such as SLOC or function points developed per month, will be addressed. Lunch and Learns are presented from a technical perspective; this will NOT be a sales pitch. "Lunch and Learn" educational Webinars address Program Affordability Management topics that our customers feel are vitally important to today's procurement, cost management, and program management professionals. PRICE H and True S Now PMI®-Certified Training Courses for PMPsPRICE Systems has achieved Global Registered Education Provider (REP) status from the Project Management Institute (PMI®) to train certified project management professionals (PMPs) enrolled in PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. PRICE H (hardware estimating model), a 5-day course provides an overview and instruction in the use of parametric cost estimating methodology and allows PMPs to earn 40 PDUs. True S (software development and lifecycle estimating model), a 4-day course provides basic instruction in the use of a collection of predictive cost models designed by PRICE Systems and allows PMPs to earn 32 PDUs. Annual PMI CCR certification requires PMPs to earn 60 PDU credits to retain certification. Each course integrates lecture and workshop, featuring 50 percent hands-on training time. Expert instructors will use real-world problems to challenge trainees and reinforce important concepts. View course outlines | Register online Technical Perspective: Cost and Business Impacts of SOATaking advantage of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) promises great technological leaps for any business or program looking to create interoperable, scalable applications that cross boundaries. An SOA approach takes advantage of networking capabilities that integrate applications in a way that is independent of architecture, programming language, development platform, or vendor. Through a set of standard interfaces, services (or software-based capabilities) are available if you are willing to follow the rules for interface and consumption. In this perspective, Chief Scientist, Arlene Minkiewicz discusses the technical challenges and implementations along with their associated cost drivers. |
