With more than two decades of high-level management and project leadership experience, Dr. John Long applies state-of-the-art operations research methodologies and techniques to meet customer needs in the areas of cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis, risk analysis, logistics analysis, statistical analysis, and model development. He has expertise in estimating Hardware, Software, and IT systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- A much-in-demand PRICE instructor, Dr. Long frequently teaches the PRICE H, HL, and S models, as well as TruePlanning for Software and IT at PRICE Systems facilities and customer locations. In addition, he has developed and taught one-day courses on TOC and Risk Management.
- As an Executive Consultant he targets and solves problems for a wide range of PRICE customers such as Science and Applied Technology, Inc., Lockheed Martin Vought Systems, Lockheed Martin Sanders, ITT Gilfillan, National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, Pratt & Whitney, and Green Street Technology.

Cost Estimating/Analyst Accomplishments:
- Drafted the initial concept for PRICEÕs Total Ownership Cost (TOC) model, which combines the PRICE Hardware (PRICE H) and Life Cycle (PRICE HL) models with spreadsheet-augmented algorithms, giving a TOC for a system.
- Developed PRICEÕs Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) Capability Maturity Process (CMP) that enables organizations to assess where they stand relative to CAIV implementation and outlines areas for improvement.
