Using TruePlanning Find and Replace
The Find and Replace utility enables the user to quickly search for inputs across all of the Cost Objects, Activities, and Resources in your estimate. Once an input has been found, the user can replace existing values. This functionality is convenient, because it saves time in having to manually search for a particular input parameter and change it one occurrence at a time. For those who are familiar with the "Ripple" capability in PRICE H, TruePlanning Find and Replace is like "Ripple on Steroids" as it automatically ripples an input to through Cost Objects, Activities, or Resources in your estimate.
Steps for finding and replacing data
1. Select the Find/Replace utility from the Edit menu, or access the toolbar icon.
2. Depending upon the input you want to find, select either Cost Objects, Activities, or Resources.
3. Choose the Input Parameter.
4. All Cost Objects, Activities, or Resources that contain the selected inputs will now be displayed.
5. Use the check box to select the instance(s) of the parameter that you want to change.
6. Enter the new value, and click Replace.
7. Once you have successfully replaced the value, TruePlanning confirms the change and the new value appears in the input field.
