PRICE’ Project Management Software Keeps MCR Federal Inc. Current With Advanced Forecasting Technology

Henry Apgar, Director of the Advanced Technologies Division of MCR Federal Inc., a consulting company that prepares individual estimates for domestic and international clients, first discovered PRICE Systems’ software in 1978 when he needed a cost-effective forecasting tool to better serve the needs of his government and commercial clients. Twenty years later, Apgar is still using PRICE Systems’ software.

Though the concept of project management forecasting (or cost estimating) models was still in its infancy at the time of the software’s purchase, the proactive approach the PRICE Systems consultants took in meeting and anticipating their clients’ questions and needs have helped bring continued success to MCR Federal.

In addition to on-site support, extensive training on all forecasting models and client-only web sites, PRICE Systems allows clients access to a technical support person 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This hands-on approach in both instructing new clients on how to better utilize the technology and walking them through the process of adapting the technology to better address their specific needs has helped make loyal customers out of high-profile corporations and institutions such as Boeing, Penn State University and the United States Air Force.

Regarding his use of PRICE, Apgar cited, “visibility into the cost divers, total system estimating capability, and good user support” as key features he would recommend to future users.

Rapid and accurate estimates in the shortest amount of time possible are critical to success in today’s demanding environment. PRICE Systems provides clients with a wide variety of tools and services that allows them to achieve their business goals faster, more accurately and more efficiently. The project management forecasting models created by PRICE Systems are used by many industries in both the private and public sector. These models give their clients the estimate costs within five percent of actual costs for all types of equipment and software from concept development to production and deployment.

Apgar added that he enjoyed an unexpected bonus that came from using the software,

“I became part of a fraternity of PRICE model users which now make up the core of parametric analysts and system estimators around the world.”
