Training

Effective training is key to any organisation maximising the return of investment both in its staff and the tools and technology it brings in to support the aims of the business.

During 2010 we spoke to many training experts, PRICE System users and academics to understand what we could improve in our training delivery. Following this review we have undertaken a radical restructuring of our courses, the scope, content and deliverables - we would value your comments to help us in our continual improvement of this key activity. Our new approach recognises that our customers have different requirements for their staff development which extend beyond the simple mechanistic use of the tool set. PRICE Systems International has therefore re-organised the way in which parametric and software application training is structured and delivered.

Training is now delivered according to customer needs for:

The courses offered are sequential and build on experience gained in technique and toolset use.

At each stage the student is provided with sufficient information, knowledge and opportunity to develop and record their progress. Every course completed is recognised by a certificate and (when fully agreed) course completion may be claimed as "continuing professional development" as required by costing organisations.

PRICE are pleased to announce that every student who undertakes the "Foundation" course will automatically receive 1 year's membership to the International Society of Parametric Analysts (ISPA) to ensure that they have access to a body of knowledge and like minded individuals to aid their development; later years membership are the responsibility of the student and their own organisation.

Parametric Estimating

Foundation - A two day course that introduces the concepts and processes of using parametric estimation techniques to derive early day top down costs.

Practitioner - 2 day course that builds on the basic course and covers additionally complex parametric techniques, data collection at organisation and toolset review to deliver top down modelling.

Advanced Excel Modelling for Cost Estimation - A two day course designed to extend the knowledge of the casual user into some of the advance techniques useful to cost modelling. The course includes validation and verification of excel cost models.

Pre-concept Phase Estimation for Business Planning - One day course that introduces the process behind the creation and agreement of assumptions and top down models enabling prediction of future projects, programs and technologies.

Supplier Assessment - A two day course providing capability to apply the TruePlanning toolset to assess, rank, evaluate and manage stakeholders in the downstream supply chain.

Cost As Independent Variable -A one day course which provides an appreciation of how project/program cost may be used to optimise design, manufacture and schedule.
