In 2015-2016, PRICE Systems teamed with Lehigh University’s Enterprise Systems Center for a project to build a cost estimating model for additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing. PRICE® researchers and a team of Lehigh seniors and graduate students set out to investigate cost drivers, collect cost and technical data, derive CERs, and develop an approach for including 3D printed parts within a larger parametric estimate. After working with our industry partners ProtoCAM, Imperial 3D, and Picatinny Arsenal, we created a cost model and estimating guidance that debuted in TruePlanning 2016.
