Automotive RFP Analysis

It is becoming harder and harder to keep up with the ever-changing technology that is being used within our cars, to run our financial institutions, and quite frankly, most aspects of our daily lives.  This poses a very real problem for those that are tasked with sourcing these new technologies because they are not likely to be aware, in detail, of what each vendor has to offer in each technology space, to address the problems that need to be addressed.

There are some common denominators though, such as functional descriptions, architectural diagrams, compliance issues – to AutoSAR in the automotive domain for example, and the technologies used to create these new applications.  And it is these common denominators that sourcing professionals are starting to turn to, to better understand what is being offered by the various vendors.

These are some of the building blocks for organisations to understand the Should Cost of the application that they are requesting and allows for comparison between vendors.  Not on a purely commercial footing but on a technical solution as well.
