Submarine Sea Systems Test Case-Columbia Class Submarine

This test case is based on the Submarine Sea Systems Template 881C structure, weight distributions, and manufacturing complexities. All hardware objects are scaled to the weight of the Columbia submarine. No changes are made to the software objects of the template. This example uses schedule dates of the Columbia program. No attempt has been made to simulate the Columbia’s design heritage or quantities of spares, prototypes, and production units. Therefore, this example should be viewed as an illustration of how the submarine sea system template can be used to produce a rough cost estimate of a known naval program.
